Bigger, Better, Faster, More: the Pursuit of Perfect Products

So many products. So many brands. Such easy access, like never before in the history of the world!
Sip your chardonnay, in your comfy jam-jams, read skincare product reviews and click, click, buy!

Here’s what I told Chris, this Monday morning, on CKBI radio: “With skincare products, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

Yes, a Skincare Specialist, telling you not to buy more skincare products. I know, it sounds crazy.

Skincare can be simple.
Choosing is hard because there are thousands – truly, thousands of skincare products to choose from now.

Here’s what you do. Ask yourself if you like the way a particular piece makes your skin feel and look. If the answer is yes, this means that you are satisfied with that product’s performance. Stick with it.
Ask yourself the same question for the next piece you use. If you are feeling more neutral or even ambivalent about it, then that one might be due for a replacement.

There are very few proven effective skincare ingredients. Every good quality brand is working from the same very short list of ingredients in different strengths, combinations or bases/suspensions.

When you see some highly specialized ingredient name advertised and you have no idea what it means, it’s usually a trademarked phrase for something commonly used like Vitamin C.
This is a tricky way that companies try to look like they have something that no one else does.
