Who Needs Hyaluronic Acid?

I love Hyaluronic Acid. It’s a cornerstone of skincare. Our bodies make hyaluronic acid; however, we manufacture less and less as we get older.

Hyaluronic Acid is a humectant that is naturally occurring in the body. A humectant pulls moisture out of its surroundings and binds it to cells.

When you apply a skincare product with a decent amount and decent quality of Hyaluronic Acid to your face and neck, it pulls moisture out of the air and binds it to your skin cells. This means your skin is more plump and hydrated.

Hyaluronic Acid is a great cosmetic ingredient for older, more mature skin and for dry skin. If you want to reduce the appearance of fine lines, use a serum with a decent quality and amount of Hyaluronic Acid.

If you feel like your face needs more volume and plumping, a strong Hyaluronic Acid serum acts like topical plumping and filling.

Hyaluronic Acid doesn’t benefit rosacea or acne and young skin doesn’t need it.

Some faces might look pretty great most of the year but start looking depleted and dehydrated in winter. Winter is a great time to invest in a good Hyaluronic Acid serum. Your face will look more hydrated and dewy.

If you just can’t seem to correct dry, cracked hands, give them a good shot of a facial grade HA product then cover that with your body or hand lotion.

I love holding the skincare industry accountable. I love wading through the tonnes of information and misinformation out there to get to the facts and find the truth for my skincare Clients. If you have more questions about HA or want to find out if it’s right for you, feel free to call me at 953 1986.
