Late Fall Skin Check In

Late Fall Skin Check In

Already we’re into early November.  You may notice your skin changing from summer.  Your skin likely feels more dry and looks dull or devitalized. Before jumping on Sephora and considering the overwhelming amount of exfoliation and brightening products, get a professional to evaluate your skin’s needs at change of season.

Now that the light is less and you’re not out on a deck or a boat every chance you get, it’s a good time to get to work on cleaning up sun damage like sun spots, age spots, and pregnancy mask.  You can do this either by alternating or combining lactic peels, microdermabrasion, and cosmetic grade Cold Laser. For more advanced color inconsistencies, add in a night time routine of alternating a strong retinol, strong vitamin C, and a mild glycolic acid skincare product. Skin gets sensitive very easily. It is an organ after all, just like your pancreas or your eye ball. Treat it gently and pay attention to pain, redness, shine, itching, burning or tingling. These are signs that you need to ease up and rest the skin.

Now is also the time to re-evaluate your daily skincare products.  Do you need a cleanser that is less for oily skin and more for dryness?  Do you need a richer day time moisturizer? We have massive seasonal changes here in Saskatchewan unlike places like Florida, Texas or California. Remember to take in information from experts in places with comparable climates. Listening to the advice of an influencer in a different climate could actually be a big step back for the beauty and health of your Saskatchewan skin.

Have you noticed that your skin, overall, has seemed drier the last few days?  It might be time to add an omega 3 supplement to your diet. If it’s just on the face, it’s time to adjust products.

Just as we need to start swap a light sweater jacket out for a heavier winter coat and just as we have to start bringing light mitts along on walks, in this part of the world, we need to attend to the seasonal needs of our skin.  At season change, a Cold Laser Microderm treatment is the ideal treatment to help you with your Late Fall Skin Check In.
