Self Care Tips for Sanity in the Pre Christmas Crush

it’s been a hectic month already.
A big push here in the last week before Christmas.
Some of us are feeling run down, wore out and frazzled.
Not just bad for our mood. Bad for our immune systems which is why many of us are fighting cold or flu right now. And, bad for our skin! This morning on CKBI, Teena told Chris and I that she found herself trying to removed eye makeup only to discover it was BAGS under her eyes!
Squeeze in some self care. But what’s that?
Self care is anything that nourishes you mentally, physically, emotionally or spiritually. Self care helps us stay balanced, inside and out.
I know it’s hard at this time of year. So much going on! Try to eat a few more vegetables and a less little sugar.
Try to squeeze in a little more water or herbal tea like chamomile or peppermint. Chamomile calms us down and peppermint helps our guts.
Try to get a little bit of downtime, even if it means a prolonged visit to the bathroom!
To try listen to music that gives you pleasure, even if it’s half a song.
Get to the gym, even if it’s 10 minutes! Or walk up and down your basement stairs ten times in a row if you can’t get to the gym.
And take your vitamin D. It helps mood, depression, immune, skin, and aches and pains.
Take some C. It helps immune and is glorious to skin.
Take some probiotic if you’re overindulging. It helps your skin and your guts.
And breathe. We kind of stop breathing when we’re stressed or overwhelmed. Deep breath in, looooooong breath out. This is proven to chill us out quite a bit. Your brain, heart and skin will thank you.
